Balayage is a colouring technique used to create a diffused look. It is great for someone who wants a soft look, someone who is new to hair colour or wants a low maintenance colour! It is great for creating soft blonde tones on naturally light hair or add dimension to dark hair with soft caramels. Balayage is created by painting the selected pieces with lightener. Taken from the French language, balayage translates to sweeping. That is exactly how the effect is created by sweeping the colour softly up the sections.
